Enjoy your coffee with Magnifico’s new album Kafana Ljubljana

In 2022, Magnifico and Aleksander Pešut - Schatz! accepted the invitation for collaboration by director Vito Taufer, who was preparing a production of Sophocles’ King Oedipus in Belgrade. Five songs were created in the Dom Svobode studio in Tivoli in the spirit of cafe ballads, full of sensuality and noble pathos, which further strengthened the play when performed live. They can be found on the recently released album Kafana Ljubljana.

While eros and thanatos clash in the love lyrics, the sound is created by a basic and almost raw cafe band, consisting of accordion, double bass and guitar. Alongside Magnifico on vocals, Jan Gregorka and Vanja Dizdarević take turns on double bass, Nedžad Rovčanin is on guitar, and Mirza Zembo is on accordion.
