On Saturday, March 14th, the Ljubljana Kinodvor movie theater hosted the premiere of the short animated film The Girl Who Wasn't Afraid of Bears, inspired by an Albanian folk tale and created in a Slovenian-Hungarian co-production by director Lea Vučko, with music composed in Magnifico's Studio Tivoli.
The film narrates a story about a brave girl who, despite her father's warnings, disguises herself as a boy and ventures into a patriarchal world that attributes and recognizes different rights and virtues to men than to women. Along the way, she overcomes magical creatures and her own fears, until she meets a legendary monster that changes her forever.
The animated adventure, created in the Invida production studio, is accompanied by an excellent musical background, composed and performed by the brotherly duo Robert Pešut – Magnifico and Aleksander Pešut – Schatz!. It is based on the song Rakija (Brandy), which was first released on Magnifico's album Kafana Ljubljana, and can also be found on his new studio album Alpe Adria Club.

And why Rakija? "This song is a typical example of a musical Balkan western, which fits perfectly with the genre, the adventurous type of story of the animated film The Girl Who Wasn't Afraid of Bears, and its geographical location," explains Magnifico, who regularly and keenly ventures into the world of film, theater, and TV series.
You can listen to a twenty-minute version of the music from the animated film on the newly released song Brandy for the girl, which is available in digital form in our online store. With your purchase, you will also receive a poster for the film The Girl Who Wasn't Afraid of Bears and an original illustration of both composers of the music, created by Dora Benčevič.
