Putumayo's tribute to Magnifico's Cursed Love
For more than 30 years, the famous American music label Putumayo World Music meticulously selects artists and songs from all over the world and imaginatively combines them on its compilations, which have become synonymous with excellence for connoisseurs of so-called world music.
These days, its digital subsidiary Putumayo Discovery (once more) paid tribute to one of the most recognizable Slovenian musicians, Magnifico, by including his song “Ljubav prokleta” (Cursed Love) from the album Kafana Ljubljana on its recently released compilation European Escapade. You can sample excerpts from the song on the record on the label’s website.
As mentioned, this is not Magnifico’s first guest appearance on famous Putumayo albums. In the past, his musical creations have already been featured on popular compilations Putumayo BalkanBeats vol.3 (song “Ubiću te”) and Swing Style vol.3 (song “Samo malo”).

The just-released compilation European Escapade, which, as Putumayo explains, “connects modern tastes and ancient inspirations, lively Estonian folk music with bluegrass influences and old Moldavian dance songs, elegant Slovenian singers and medieval Swedish nickel harps,” is now available for pre-order.
